The two company guys showed up just a bit early…one having driven all the way from Appleton, Wisconsin…..after a brief visit, we found them an office, computer and let them do what they do…..analyze existing accounts to roll to them….

After I returned to my office, the phone rang….”I say we stop flex time and don’t let anyone go home early from now on”…… it was “Idea Guy” trying to make a point…last week, I changed payroll services and didn’t refer the matter to him…..the CFO…so he wanted me to know how it felt..sorry dude was all I could say… I’m so used to making decisions day to day…I sometimes forget to get others involved….hence yesterdays injured baby chicken reference…didn’t take an hour…one shell mildly injured…..

The balance of the day was used to distribute information, collect information and have one of our carriers mention that they weren’t interested in an account we submitted their way….too small they said…for God’s sake, I cleared it with the marketing folks..but as usual, the underwriters make the ultimate decision….so, either I find a new market or tell the manager to forget it…..

The day ended with the “company guy’s” thanking me and assuring me that all the accounts except one were awesome and they didn’t see any problems whatsoever…then I met with “Like Me Gal” to develop the plan for the book roll….

Off for a haircut..but the place was too busy…..so they asked..”do you have an appointment?”…. duh…. there has never been more than 2 people in the entire place before…but I suppose just before Christmas folks are sprucing up…..home I went… ended the day as usual..

Today, we have a 10:00 am meeting to review the book roll plans with the staff…I’m bringing something we used to call a “Buck Buck Stick” when I was in Nam….It’s like a baseball bat just in-case I have to “buck buck” “Sensitive Guy”….he tends to get a bit argumentative and stubborn when we tell him what to do…..lots of questions intended to put the person doing the talking in a corner…..I haven’t “buck bucked” anyone for along time…but today just might be the day…..

I already have a headache just thinking about it…
