A vacation day…a vacation week…..I ended the year with a dull thud production wise…I didn’t get any of the four Town-home Associations I was working on….the Horse Riding stable I was so optimistic about is all but dead because no insurance company wants the comp on that..so, I have one consultant that “looks” as though I may pick it up….

While resisting the temptation to fall back into all that self reflection stuff….I must make an exception…study “resolve” and fully understand it’s meaning….it surely seems to be a missing ingredient in the loaf of bread I might otherwise be….

Resolve…..”to convert or transform by any process”.. 

So, my task for 2012 is to convert or transform my working (and living) habits….”Idea Guy” and I had a great conversation before he returned to sunny Arizona….that we get into the habit of doing the things we LIKE vs the things that are important to our business…. I actually “like” managing the agency…but I have time to produce new revenue….. I hate being overweight….and I have time to exercise and diet…but in this as well as the other issues I face affecting resolve, is the process……and I don’t mean….walk on a treadmill and eat less…. I mean the far more complicated or challenging process of getting the emotional self…. and the physical self to align with one another and move forward for the common good…

It’s like the ad says..”Just do it”… it simplifies things doesn’t it…. we make too big a thing…too insurmountable a thing over issues that make us unhappy, that we want to address….. we make them so monumental we then can conclude…”why try…it’s too big a hill to climb?”….

Well, I have resolved to go back to bed..it’s a vacation day for God’s sake….lots of final errands to run, money to spend and details to attend to….after my resolution to get a bit more sleep….
