- Well, the year ended with a little bit of a letdown….
December we lost money..but that’s to be expected some months..My production surely suffered as well….so my ego and pride are not in optimum functioning order…and I have decided I may need to cut back on the administrative functions of my job to focus more in generating new business….a process I’ll have to think through rather carefully, so that I don’t put our little agency in any jeopardy….
“Tall Handsome Guy” kicked all of our butts…but whats
new?… “Idea Guy” was #2….I was #3 and “Good Guy came
at #4…..the spirit of competition however, is healthy and
hale…and hopefully, next year will show an improvement..
Trend-wise, the agency has done a great job of increasing
business over the last couple of years..and with the addition
of “New Guy”; “Cussing Guy” and “Independent Gal” we
have reason for optimism…..
I have an appointment in Anoka at 10..this is pretty exciting
because it is a firm with 80 employee’s..so the premiums will
be substantial…but I have to drop the Jag off first..and try to
get a workout in today as well…..and see my second largest
client who will become my #1 client because the workers
compensation premiums will more than double due to losses.
I had a call from a longtime client yesterday who asked if we
couldn’t possibly find a way to lower her premiums…she was
63 and it looked like she had all the discounts available….but
then I asked her if she had taken a “defensive driving”
course…”no, I haven’t…what is that?”…it is a class that is
often time sponsored by one insurance company or another
and once taken if your a senior will get you an additional
10% credit on your auto insurance premiums….that can add
up to a lot of savings…..”Where do I find one” she asked….
I told her I’d find one for her….and did….she couln’t have
thanked me enough…she’ll have to sit through an entire day’
of training..but once complete she’ll cut her insurance costs.
