I point these two definitions out, lest I offend my friends, loved ones and co workers with this blog….As I write this, I truly do consider the feelings of others…then I look at the “sketch” depicting my likeness herein…. It is a caricature…an exaggeration of fact.. The Mrs. said the caricature makes me look fat…. she clearly sees a thinner man.. My friend Harvey says it makes me look as though the whole “grouchy” thing is a put on..and the twinkle in the eye of the caricature belies a sense of humor…but the facts are that these are just reality with a little “literary license”..a little “exaggeration” of reality. Hopefully the end result of reading this from time to time is a smile rueful as it may be…I also hope it is an attempt to give others the ability to look inward and see the humor, either in my lack of writing prowess or in themselves…whichever…
Yesterday was a day at home… Today, however, I need to be in Brooklyn Park at 8:00 am…I’m working on a new account and two of my carriers want to conduct inspections of the workplace…this is a good sign…as we are in the proverbial hard market now..When a company is willing to spend money before writing a new piece of business by sending their loss control people out…that’s a good sign…
One of my favorite times of the year have arrived… “Like Me Gal’s” neighbor has the two most adorable little girl scouts stopping by to visit me..(and sell me cookies)…boy, I’m a pushover…I’ll be their biggest sale i expect..then I’ll give some of those little fat pills to the staff and hopefully, refrain from eating any myself…naturally, I’ll bring some home to the Mrs…..
Well, I’m back on track diet wise too….. Ensure and Apples with a little popcorn thrown in should help me get some of the excess down to a more acceptable level…Off to fight the early morning traffic…can’t be late…
