I’m looking out at a grey sky..an occasional little bird drops by the bird feeder for breakfast…then off it goes…the squirrels looking on in envy, having long since given up the quest to reach it..but the Mrs. puts peanuts out for them…just to even things up.. Haven’t seen a Deer, Coyote or Wild Turkeys yet this year…but they usually don’t show up till the end of the season…

Open day today…great time to make some cold calls….ugh.. I hate cold calls….. my sensitive and fragile ego I’m sure… But I always feel better after that first one….somehow I’m reassured of that which I already know… it doesn’t hurt nearly as bad as those of us with phone reluctance make it out to be… As Zig used to say…”Every-time I hear NO…I’m that much closer to a yes”… this my friends is a scientific reality…. and a peek at the truth..it’s just mathematics…. or numbers if you prefer….

I have two lists…. my worker’s comp pool guys…..they really are in trouble… and my lumber guys…. they could get a dividend..(thats return of premium)….today is the day…i’ll make the calls…

My Aunt…who has been like a mother to me since my own passed in the early 80’s.. is very ill…and that weighs heavily on the mind….she’s probably the last and only real pleasant link to an otherwise hostile childhood…. I love my Aunt very much..but most folks that know her can say the same…. I’ll be thinking of her today…

And we had to let a very nice lady go last week….(well, “Like Me Gal” did)…nice person.. and it was a tearful and unfortunate event… but we must never lose sight of what’s good for our business…..that’s why we are here… and oops..taxes are looming so I just thought of something else to do so I won’t have to make those calls… Where is the discipline????????…Okay, I’ll make the calls…
